Wow!

Newly elected Charleston, South Carolina Chums President, Ms. Carolyn Hunter, donates $1 million to Trident Technical College.  This generous donation is the largest donation in the history of Trident Technical College.  Ms. Hunter is the President and owner of C & A Unlimited Inc. which currently operates three McDonald’s restaurant franchises in the Charleston, SC area.

The President of Trident Technical College, Dr. Mary Thornley, has indicated “the only way we can meet the need for education and economic development in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties is with the support of our community and the involvement of impressive and compassionate individuals like Carolyn.”

Ms. Hunter was inspired to make this gift to the college as she has been impressed by the college’s leadership and the phenomenal growth over the past two decades.  Carolyn also pointed out due to her involvement with the TTC Foundation,  she has gained insight of the work that is being done to prepare our Low Country students for a better future through affordable education.

The TTC Foundation operates independently of the college as a nonprofit corporation, helping bridge the gap between needs and resources for TTC students and employees.

Pictured below is Ms. Hunter surrounded by her niece, Ms. Denise Ball, and Ms. Hunter’s son, Albert Ford and administrators of Trident Technical College.
